Do you operate as a hotel or a vacation rental?

We operate similar to a vacation rental property. Payments are made online and there are no special guest services. Enjoy the space, follow the guidelines outlined here, and be considerate of others.

There is a caretaker living on-site for emergencies and a land line is available.

How close is the river and is it swimmable?

We are lucky to have 2 great beaches and multiple swimming holes along our portion of the river, all easily accessible from the cabins. The "main" beach is about 100 yards from the cabin area, the second roughly double that. There is also a small swimming hole down a short path behind cabin 6, perfect for a quick afternoon plunge!

Is internet available?

BBL is your opportunity to disconnect and enjoy time to relax without the distractions of our modern day devices.

There is no internet access at the lodge. Also note that cell service can be very spotty depending on the provider. We do provide a land line for emergencies.

Do you offer any discounts for extended stays?

We don't offer discounts in the summer, but in the shoulder and winter seasons we do have a discounted weekly rate.

What should I bring?

We’re not kidding when we say we’re remote. We don’t have a restaurant, snack bar or store. There is a great small general store in town which is about 30mins round trip. But if you don’t want to make the extra trip into “town”, here’s a quick list of items to be sure to bring:

  • Charcoal
  • Ice
  • Drinks (double what you think you'll need!)
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Water shoes (to explore river and creeks)
  • Beach towels
  • Beach chairs
  • Layers (it can get chilly at night)
